The Jazz at the Museum concert series is swinging into the new year with its latest chapter, “Jazz Interactions.” On Friday, January 17, the Dimitris Tsakas Trio will take the stage at the B&E Goulandris Foundation to perform their latest project, Genesis.
Following the release of their latest album, Conversation Helps, the Dimitris Tsakas Trio collaborates with artist Eleni Tsaka to present Genesis at the B&E Goulandris Foundation’s Amphitheatre. This innovative project creates a dynamic dialogue between jazz and painting, exploring the interplay of sound and image. The musicians’ improvisations are inspired by Tsaka’s expressionist works, which depict figures and environments that narrate emotions and actions.
The “Jazz Interactions” series continues into February and March, featuring performances by the Harris Labrakis Quartet with The Art of Humble Materials and Music on February 7, and Petros Klampanis with Roofstop Stories, a piece conceived during the pandemic, on February 28.
