Leonidas Vardaros’ documentary focuses on women’s political and social struggles in the 20th century, surviving prison, exile, and facing the firing squads. They were punished for their struggle for a better life and for fighting the Nazis, seeking national independence and democracy.

The second part of his documentary series focuses on the events (1944-1960) of the National liberation, British intervention, December uprising, and the Greek Civil War. The left-wing organizations -KKE, EAM, EPON- have been banned. The only organization that operates openly is PEOPEF, through which the mothers, wives, and sisters of the imprisoned, exiled and those fighters facing the firing squads, battle for the salvation of their loved ones.
