The Greek Culture Ministry announced this week grants totaling 380,000 euros to go towards cultural events that promote accessibility for people with disabilities.
Grants under the “Creative Greece – Modern Culture Grants 2024″ program will be awarded to 42 organizations that submitted proposals following the ministry’s call last December. The ministry hopes to support cultural events, actions, initiatives in all creative sectors and to stimulate interest in contemporary art and culture.
The program aims to feature artists with disabilities, enhance social inclusion, and encourage cultural initiatives tailored to people with disabilities. It also seeks to foster networking and cooperation among cultural organizations, support entrepreneurship in the creative sector, and promote collaborations with international artists specializing in disability-inclusive cultural productions.
“The program aims to protect the rights of people with disabilities, but also to foster social inclusion and highlight their skills through participation in cultural actions and creative programs,” said Deputy Culture Minister Christos Dimas.
