Despite the recent wave of African dust over Attica, Athens’ neighborhoods still carry the delightful scent of bitter orange blossoms—an unmistakable sign that spring has arrived, and with it, the Easter season. To celebrate, Athens Municipality has organized a wide range of free, creative activities for families, running through to Holy Wednesday (April 16).

Children and families of all ages can engage in workshops covering crafts, visual arts, ceramics, music, movement, and theater, all inspired by Easter traditions. These activities will take place at key cultural centers across the city, including the Municipal Gallery, the Arts Center, the Museum of Folk Art and Tradition “Angeliki Hatzimichali,” the Digital Museum of the Platonic Academy, the “Melina” Cultural Center, the Creative Learning Centers, and the Clay Center of the Municipality of Athens.

Please note that all activities offer free admission; however, reservations are required to secure your spot. Below, you’ll find a detailed guide to the activities, along with information on how to make a reservation.
