Award-Winning ‘NOTED’ Brings New York’s Bold Theater to Athens

All the way from the other side of the Atlantic, the acclaimed and multi-award-winning performance group The Back Pack is bringing their latest production, NOTED, to Athens for the first time. On April 5 and 6, the renowned non-spoken theater ensemble from New York will take the stage at Roes Theater for two exclusive performances after having captivated audiences and critics in the U.S.

A thrilling comedic spectacle featuring four dynamic performers, NOTED masterfully blends clowning, puppetry, animation, shadow theater, stop-motion, and live sound creation using everyday materials (foley techniques). The result is an unforgettable fusion of movement, music, dance, and multimedia that brings their signature “live animation” style to life—straight from the heart of Manhattan.

“The hype is real.. RUN, don’t walk, to the next show.”

— Broad Street Review

The Back Pack’s imaginative style has been described as: “a live action cartoon”, “unmatched in its cleverness”, and “pure entertainment that will leave you with a smile on your face and a glow in your heart.”

The Back Pack

Founded in 2008 by Katie Kohler, Pete Betcher, Jeremiah Rosenberger, and Justin Morley, The Back Pack began as a university project in Montana and has since grown into one of the most significant comedy and movement theater groups in the U.S. Their unique, silent comedic performances have earned them prestigious accolades, including two B. Iden Payne Awards, an Austin Critics Table Award, four Best of Fest awards from Frontera Fest, and recognition as one of the top four acts at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.

Having enjoyed a successful run at New York’s The Tank Theatre, NOTED now makes its way to Athens, promising a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that defies conventional storytelling and delights audiences of all ages.
