The Ministry of Culture has announced adjustments to the operating hours of the Archaeological Site of the Acropolis due to anticipated high temperatures exceeding 40°C. Effective immediately, the site will be closed from noon to 5 pm on Wednesday.

“The Archaeological Site of the Acropolis will be closed from 12 noon to 5 pm due to the forecast of high temperatures,” stated the Ministry of Culture, echoing earlier announcements by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Athens and the Organization for the Management and Development of Cultural Resources.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has introduced emergency measures to protect private sector workers from heat stress during the ongoing heat wave.

Employees engaged in manual labor outdoors, such as technical and construction work, construction sites, and delivery services, must cease operations between noon and 5 pm when temperatures reach or exceed 40°C. These measures come in response to warnings from the National Meteorological Service.
