The weather in Greece is expected to deteriorate, with the Greek Meteorological Service issuing a severe weather warning for storms starting on Saturday.
The weather is projected to deteriorate today starting from the west of the country and gradually moving to the east. Heavy rainfall and storms are forecast locally in the Ionian Sea and the coast of Epirus, as well as the western mainland (Sterea) stretching down to the southern Peloponnese.
From the early hours of Sunday, February 16, the inclement weather will affect the eastern part of the Peloponnese before the sporadic phenomena reach western and southern Crete and the northeast Aegean Sea.
A gradual easing of the poor weather conditions is expected from midday on Sunday, starting in the west and gradually improving in other regions as well.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected mainly in the Ionian and southern mainland, possibly becoming temporarily intense, gradually extending to Crete, and intermittently affecting the eastern Aegean islands.
By evening, the weather in Greece will temporarily improve in the west, with phenomena confined to the east and gradually weakening.
Temperatures will see a slight drop in the northeastern regions, reaching 11 to 13 degrees Celsius in northern areas, 15 to 17 degrees in the rest of the country, and up to 18 degrees Celsius in some southeastern areas.
