The Greek meteorological service issued a revised weather bulletin forecasting locally severe rain and thunderstorms intermittently from Monday afternoon until Wednesday morning. The weather agency maintained a red warning label for the severe weather conditions.
Based on the latest data, heavy rain and storms will affect most parts of eastern Greece from Monday, March 31, 2025, through Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025.
In the Cyclades, the severe weather will begin Monday afternoon (March 31) and last until midday Tuesday (April 1). The conditions will be particularly dangerous, with a red warning in effect until Tuesday morning.
In the Eastern Aegean islands, particularly around Samos, Ikaria, and Chios, the heavy rain and storms will start Monday night and continue through Tuesday evening.
In Eastern Central Greece and Euboea (Evia), the severe weather is expected from late Monday night until midday Tuesday.
In Attica, including Athens, the worst conditions are forecasted during the overnight hours from Monday into Tuesday.
In Thessaly and the Sporades, the storms will begin early Tuesday morning and persist until late Tuesday night.
The HNMS urges residents in affected areas to take precautions, as heavy rainfall and thunderstorms could lead to flooding and other hazardous conditions.
