Heavy rains and thunderstorms are forecast from much of the northern half of the Greek mainland on Monday, whereas southerly winds in the daytime of 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale are expected to carry North African dust and cause overcast skies in the southern half of the country.

The low front will interrupt a particularly balmy spate of weather in the east Mediterranean country over the past week.

Temperatures will range between 11C and 17C in the north, 10C to 19C in western Greece and from 11C to 17C on the eastern coasts, while reaching as high as 19C on the islands. Rainfall is forecast for the greater Athens area.
