Greece is making its presence felt at the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29), held this year in Baku, Azerbaijan, which is set to kick of Monday, November 11 and run through November 22.

The Greek delegation, organized under the Ministry of Environment and Energy, is led by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who will be holding a series of meetings and will participate in several panels.

Other senior government officials who will accompanying him will include Environment and Energy Minister Theodoros Skylakakis, Culture Minister Lina Mendoni, Deputy Foreign Minister Kostas Fragogiannis, Deputy Environment and Energy Minister Alexandra Sdoukou, and Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Stefanos Gkikas. Senior members of the Ministry of Environment and Energy will also attend.

With a dedicated national pavilion, Greece will host more than 45 events featuring leaders from various countries, government officials, academics, corporate representatives, and members of civil society. These events will address key topics in climate and energy, such as green financing, climate resilience in water and infrastructure, and energy security. Greece is also spotlighting technological innovation, carbon capture, renewable energy, and advancements in energy storage and transmission.
