Tonight’s 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards will be a star-studded affair.

The awards show will hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, as the first solo female host in its history. 

The Golden Globes will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday evening Hollywood time, meaning Greek viewers will have to tune in during the early hours Monday to watch live.

Emilia Pérez, a musical-thriller, leads with 10 nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Karla Sofía Gascón, and two Best Supporting Actress nominations for Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña. Right behind Emilia Pérez are The Brutalist, a post-World War II drama starring Adrien Brody as a Holocaust survivor looking to actualize American Dream, and Conclave, a thriller about the election of a new pope, with seven and six nominations, respectively.

Other notable nominees for Best Motion Picture – Drama include A Complete Unknown, Dune: Part Two, Nickel Boys, and September 5. In the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, Wicked and Anora are contenders. Wicked, the beloved broadway show was a box and Anora a romantic comedy about a sex worker marrying the son of a Russian oligarch, were both box office hits.

Timothée Chalamet, nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for A Complete Unknown, faces competition from Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Daniel Craig (Queer), and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing). In the Best Actress in a Drama category, nominees include Nicole Kidman (Babygirl), Tilda Swinton (The Room Next Door), and Kate Winslet (Lee).

In supporting roles, Selena Gomez (Emilia Pérez) and Ariana Grande (Wicked) are up for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical or Comedy, while Guy Pearce (The Brutalist) and Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice) are nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

On the TV side, The Bear leads with five nominations, following its success in 2023. The Bear is competing against Only Murders in the Building and Shōgun, which each earned four nominations. In the Best Television Series – Drama category, Squid Game is also making a return. 

In addition to the competitive awards, Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award for his significant contributions to television, and Viola Davis will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.
