One of Greece’s best-known and veteran performers, Anna Vissi, delivered what many are calling “the best concert of her career” on Saturday night at the historic Panathenaic Stadium in central Athens, the U-shaped outdoor stadium where the first modern Olympics of 1896 were held.
Despite the drizzle earlier that evening, fans packed into the wet marble seats and center arena for the sold-out event, with more 60,000 people of all ages in attendance.
Traffic in downtown Athens came to a standstill in front of the stadium as concert-goers made their way to the venue, known locally as ‘Kallimarmaro,’ by car, on foot, and via public transportation.
The evening kicked-off with a DJ set, and the Cypriot-born performer took the stage shortly after 9 p.m., performing non-stop until well past midnight.

Throughout the concert she frequently paused singing to allow concert-goers to pick-up the verses, and their voices could be heard from blocks away.
@fannaticslive #vissikalimarmarro #annavissi #βίσση pic.twitter.com/j3oKOOWJWL

After the concert, Vissi spoke to the press, sharing how overwhelmed she felt performing at the historic stadium and expressing her gratitude for the immense love she recieved from her fans.
In a post shared on her instagram page, the event has been described as “the biggest concert of her career”. Meanwhile, the post also elaborated on the inspiration behind her stunning attire.
Vissi wore a custom-made outfit specially designed for the night by Greek designer Vrettos Vrettakos, which was inspired by English rock legend Roger Daltrey.
The intricate ensemble, which took over two months and hundreds of hours to create, aimed to capture the spirit of Daltrey’s iconic look at the 1972 Woodstock festival.
The post, written in Greek, highlighted that the cape worn by Vissi was embellished with 500,000 iridescent silver crystals, delicately set on silk muslin, and finished with fringe details—mirroring the style of the jacket worn by Roger Daltrey.
Underneath the fringed cape, she sported a crystal-adorned cowboy denim outfit, featuring 100,000 crystals, pearls, silver chains, and vintage pins, in an effort to add a glamorous twist to Daltrey’s look.
